Brucite is natural magnesium hydroxide, also known as magnesium hydroxide. Melting point (dehydration) 340 ℃, relative density: 2.39, hardness: 2.5, crystal structure: six crystal systems, relative molecular mass: 58.32, solubility: 0.009g / L. Brucite has a simple chemical composition and the molecular formula is Mg (OH) 2. Brucite is a relatively rare high-magnesium mineral in nature. Its theoretical chemical composition is MgO 69.12% and H2O 30.55%. Naturally produced brucite Impurities such as Fe, Mn, Zn, Ni, etc. These impurities exist in a quasi-homogeneous manner, forming a continuous or discontinuous solid solution series, and the constituent end members are subspecies: ferrite (containing FeO 10%), manganese brucite (18% containing MnO), zinc brucite (containing 4% ZnO), nickel brucite (containing 2.5% NiO). The associated minerals of brucite are serpentine, calcite, dolomite, magnesite, magnesium silicate minerals, brucite, diopside and talc.
Application of brucite:
Brucite can be used in flame retardant, heavy metal removal, flue gas desulfurization, acid wastewater treatment, soil improver, fireproof coating, refractory material, environmental protection field, fertilizer, etc.
