Medical Use of Magnesium Sulfate

It can be used as an anticonvulsant. It is often used in pregnancy-induced hypertension, lowering blood pressure, treating preeclampsia and eclampsia, as well as preterm delivery.

It is often used to treat convulsions, eclampsia, uremia, tetanus and hypertensive encephalopathy. Magnesium sulfate can be used to treat constipation and abnormal intestinal fermentation.
