The single crystal of brucite is in the form of thick plate, which is usually in the form of sheet aggregate, sometimes in the form of fiber. It is called brucite; it is white to light green, and the one containing manganese or iron is reddish brown. The color change of brucite depends on the content of the mixture, for example, the variety of iron and manganese impurities is yellow or maroon; transparent; the cleavage surface is pearl luster, the fresh crystal surface and fracture surface are glass luster, the brucite is silk luster; the hardness is 2.5; the specific gravity is 2.3-2.6g/cm3.
So far, the total proved reserves of brucite resources in China have exceeded 25 million tons. Fengcheng, Liaoning Province has the most abundant brucite resources in China, with a reserve of 10 million tons; Ningqiang, Shaanxi Province has a proven brucite reserve of 7.8 million tons; Ji'an, Jilin Province has a proven brucite reserve of 2 million tons.
