This is a reversible reaction. Magnesium hydroxide precipitation and ammonium chloride solution were obtained by the reaction of ammonia water and magnesium chloride at room temperature. At high temperature, the solubility of ammonium salt to magnesium hydroxide increased significantly. Ammonium chloride reacts with magnesium hydroxide to obtain evaporated ammonia water and magnesium chloride solution. At present, some enterprises use this principle to get ammonia water and magnesium chloride solution through the reaction of cheap magnesium oxide and ammonium chloride. High purity magnesium hydroxide can be obtained by purifying magnesium chloride solution.
