1. Put the magnesia powder in the oven (400 ℃) for 0.5h, grind and pass the 150 mesh sieve. (105 degrees, drying for 1 hour)
2. Take 2G of the above magnesium powder in a beaker which has been burned to 100 ℃± 2 constant weight, add 4 grams of water, first hydration at 105 ℃ for 2h, and then put it into an oven at 150 ℃ to dry to constant weight.
It is soluble in acid and ammonium salt, but insoluble in water, and its solution is alkaline. It is insoluble in ethanol and has strong refractivity in the visible and near UV range. Magnesite, dolomite and seawater are the main raw materials for the production of magnesia. Magnesia is obtained by thermal decomposition of magnesite or dolomite. Magnesium hydroxide precipitation is obtained by treating seawater with hydrated lime, and magnesium oxide is obtained by burning magnesium hydroxide.
