Flame retardant can be divided into organic flame retardant and inorganic flame retardant. Organic flame retardants are mainly chlorine, bromine and phosphorus. Inorganic flame retardants include aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide. Organic flame retardant can be divided into halogen flame retardant and halogen-free flame retardant. Halogen flame retardant has the advantages of low consumption, high flame retardant efficiency and wide adaptability, but its serious disadvantage is that it generates a large amount of smoke and toxic and corrosive gases during combustion, which is very harmful. Halogen-free flame retardant does not contain halogen cables, and has good flame retardant effect, and the gas generated when being decomposed by heat is low in smoke and toxicity. Inorganic flame retardant has high decomposition temperature, which not only has flame retardant effect, but also has the function of inhibiting smoke and hydrogen chloride formation. Among them, aluminum hydroxide is a flame retardant with three functions of flame retardant, smoke suppression and filling, which is non-toxic, non-corrosive, stable, does not produce toxic gases at high temperature, and has low price and wide sources. Magnesium hydroxide decomposes between 340℃ and 490℃. Good thermal stability, good flame retardant and smoke suppression effects, especially suitable for processing polyolefin plastics with higher temperature.
