Emergency Treatment of Magnesium Hydroxide Leakage

Operators'protective measures, protective equipment and emergency disposal procedures: It is recommended that emergency personnel wear air-carrying respirators, anti-static clothing and rubber oil-resistant gloves. No contact or leaking is allowed. All equipment used in operation shall be grounded. Cut off the source of leakage as far as possible. Eliminate all ignition sources. Warning zones are delimited according to the influence areas of liquid flow, vapor or dust diffusion, and irrelevant personnel are evacuated to safety zones from cross-wind and upper-wind directions.


Environmental protection measures: to accommodate leaks and avoid environmental pollution. Prevent leakage from entering sewers, surface water and groundwater.


Containment, removal methods and disposal materials used for leaking chemicals:


Small leaks: Collect leaking liquids in airtight containers as much as possible. Use sand, activated carbon or other inert materials to absorb and transfer to safe places. No flushing into the sewer.


Massive leakage: building embankments or digging pits for shelter. Close drainage pipe. Foam is used to cover evaporation. Transfer to tank truck or special collector with explosion-proof pump, recycle or transport to waste disposal site for disposal
