There are two kinds of geotectonic environment of brucite deposit, one is ophiolite suite. Only in the area where ophiolite suite is distributed can brucite be formed under hydrothermal alteration. The other is the remnant of oceanic crust near the geosyncline. The protolith of magnesian marble should be dolomite and magnesite, etc., which formed brucite after regional metamorphism or hydrothermal metasomatism. Therefore, the geotectonic environment controls the formation and distribution of brucite deposits.
Brucite ore bed has obvious stratabound. Although there are few examples of fibrous brucite deposit, it is difficult to judge whether it has stratabound property at present. The stratabound property of brucite deposit in Dashiqiao formation and Lieryu formation of Liaohe Group is very obvious. According to the occurrence ages of the shuimagnesite deposits (spots) in Ji'an, Henan Xixia and Liuhe, Jiangsu, they are generally relatively old, and Their Ore-forming parent rocks are all formed in Proterozoic.
The geographical distribution of brucite deposits is closely related to the geotectonic environment and the distribution of ore bearing formation. At present, many brucite deposits have been found in Fengcheng, Kuandian, Mudanjiang, Yingkou, Ji'an, Henan Xixia, Liuhe, Jiangsu and heimulin, southern Shaanxi. If further prospecting is carried out, new and greater discoveries can be foreseen.
