It can be used as polishing agent, binder, filler of paint and paper, accelerator and activator of chloroprene rubber and fluororubber, mixed with magnesium chloride and other solutions, to produce magnesium oxide cement. It is used in medicine as antacid and laxative, for gastric acidosis, gastric and duodenal ulcer disease. Also used in glass, dye, phenolic plastics and other industries.
