The differences between halogen and halogen-free flame retardants are as follows: different composition, different harm and different advantages.
1、 The ingredients are different
1. Halogen: it refers to the flame retardant mixture composed of halogen-containing polymers or halogen-containing flame retardants. It mainly includes antimony trioxide and decabromodiphenyl ether, which is often referred to as bromine antimony grade flame retardant.
2. Halogen free: it is a kind of high performance phosphorus nitrogen organic flame retardant, mainly including triazine trione compounds and triazine triamine compounds.
2、 The harm is different
1. Halogen: materials made of halogen-containing flame retardants will produce a lot of smoke and toxic corrosive hydrogen halide gas when heated, causing secondary hazards.
2. Halogen free: small amount of smoke during combustion, no corrosive and toxic gas is produced.
