Brucite fiber (Mg(OH)2), a rare fibrous magnesium hydroxide at home and abroad, has the characteristics of white color, easy splitting and high cashmere yield. With its unique and excellent performance and low price, it has become the preferred natural substitute for asbestos. Asbestos fiber is the general name of natural fibrous siliceous mineral, which is a silicate mineral fiber widely used in building materials and fireproof boards. It is also the only natural mineral fiber. Rock is produced by dynamic metamorphism. Asbestos fiber refers to inorganic mineral fiber of serpentine and amphibole series, and its basic component is hydrated magnesium silicate (3MgO·3SiO2·2H2O). Asbestos fiber is characterized by heat resistance, incombustibility, water resistance, acid resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. There are more than 30 kinds of asbestos fibers, but there are three kinds that are most used in industry, namely chrysotile asbestos, crocidolite and amosite. Asbestos is carcinogenic, and may be infected with carcinomatous mesothelioma and lung cancer in an environment with serious asbestos dust. Therefore, attention should be paid to protection during operation. Used as high temperature resistant and flame retardant reinforcing filler in adhesive bonding.
